In 1964 sales of new equipment began in Achterveld and then Fendt quickly expanded its activities in the Netherlands to include maintenance of tractors and machines, parts supply, sales of used tractors and machines and later financial services.

In the 1950s the Amsterdam brothers Willem and Cees de Vor imported used tractors, which they sold mainly in pubs. In 1957 they took over Jan Kooy's garage with forge on Hessenweg 164 in Achterveld, Netherlands. The brothers' great commercial spirit led the De Vor company to start importing the Fendt brand, then unknown in the Netherlands, in 1964.

In the first year the company sold a handful of tractors. But already in 1972 the De Vor company received a certificate from the Fendt factory for having sold two thousand Fendt tractors and in 1975 the company festively delivered the 6,000th Fendt. In 1986, 1,287 are sold in one year, making Fendt the market leader in the Netherlands.

In 1992, De Vor delivers the 20,000th Fendt (a Fendt 311) to its new owner and in 2013 the 30,000th, a Fendt Farmer 412 Vario. In 2014, as De Vor celebrates fifty years as a Fendt importer, the company merges into Mechan. The historic starting point, the dealership in Hessenweg in Achterveld is still in use today.

The fact that Mechan positions itself today as the engine of the agricultural sector and Fendt with the slogan Leaders drive Fendt, clearly indicates that both brands share a similar mindset and thus have a strong foundation for a long partnership.
