The best Fendt 700 Vario of all time!

The legend among legends

The 724 Vario model has landed the single most registered tractor in Germany for no less than 10 years. Is it even possible to top the most popular tractor?

Yes! The Fendt 700 Vario Gen7 is the crowning glory of the series: the latest technologies, innovative solutions, that little bit more that makes your everyday work so much easier and brings significant efficiency benefits. Thanks to 25 years of continuous development by Fendt, you no longer have to do without anything with the Gen7. The Gen7 is a Fendt 700 Vario par excellence, the best of all time - a true leader!

No compromises! More power AND greater manoeuvrability

No one else in the performance class can do that!

More horsepower means less manoeuvrability at the same time? Not with the Fendt 700 Vario Gen7. Thanks to VarioDrive with independent four-wheel drive, pull-in turn effect and compact design, the Gen7 is more manoeuvrable than ever before. This is most noticeable at the headland turn. With a working width of 6 m, you can turn at the headland with a track circle of 10.0 m in one pass, thereby reducing the headland to just 18 m instead of the usual 24 m. This corresponds to up to one track less or a headland that is up to 25% smaller.

You don't have to compromise on performance. The top model, the 728 Vario, has a whopping 303 hp. Benefit from the up to 23% higher performance and up to 10% higher power density of the Gen7 compared to the familiar 724 Gen6. This means that the Gen7 effortlessly pulls larger implements - a powerhouse that equips you for all of the tasks on your farm.

The fastest and at the same time the most economical

Diesel tractors that use less!

More speed also means higher diesel consumption? Not with the Fendt 700 Vario Gen7. It has by far the lowest diesel consumption in its power class (241 to 305 hp)1 and even consumes less fuel at 60 km/h than some other competitors at 50 km/h. You save up to €20,000 in running costs with the Gen72 (Diesel/AdBlue) compared to the average of all DLG-tested tractors. The time saved should not be neglected. The higher final speed means you can work even more efficiently. This allows you to complete 13 transport journeys in a 10-hour working day instead of 12 - which corresponds to a transport performance increase of up to 8%3.

Soil-friendly working without sacrificing payload strength

Efficiency without compromise!

More operating weight and payload mean higher soil compaction at the same time? Not with the Fendt 700 Vario Gen7. Despite its incredible payload capacity of up to 6.2 tonnes, the Gen7 protects the soil better than ever before. For the first time, the 700 Vario Gen7 can be fitted with tyres with a maximum diameter of 2.05 metres ex works. Thanks to the now available VarioGrip tyre pressure regulation system, the tyre contact area can be increased by up to 20% - quickly and easily. The larger contact area protects the soil and at the same time increases the tractive force, which means that up to 8% more area can be cultivated1. In addition, at 0.8 bar (instead of the usual 1.8 bar), diesel consumption during field work can be reduced by up to 8% per hectare2.

VarioDrive also protects the soil when turning in the field. For example, thanks to independent four-wheel drive without bracing, there is no sward damage in grassland and forage contamination is reduced.

A look into the past

Since 1999, from the very first generation, the Fendt 700 Vario has been one of the most popular tractors among farmers. The 724 Vario model has been the single most registered tractor in Germany for no less than 10 years. The 7th generation of the 700 Vario also builds on the success of its predecessor generations: It has already won 8 awards since its market launch in 2022. The fact that the 100,000th machine in the 700 Vario series has been produced this year is an opportunity to take a look at the development of the most popular Fendt series.

1999 – Gen1

Favorit 711 - 716 Vario

The history of the Fendt 700 Vario series begins with the Favorit 700 Vario: Fendt offers its customers in the 115 hp to 160 hp class a completely new generation of tractors - for the first time with a continuously variable Vario transmissionand integrated Variotronic terminal in this power class. Further innovative Fendt technology is used under the newly designed round bonnet: six-cylinder engines with four-valve technology, cast frame concept with new front axle suspension system and new electromagnetic hydraulic valves.

Fendt engineers have developed a new driving and operating system for more comfort in the cab. The new intuitive controls in the Fendt tractors were given the name: VARIOTRONIC. With the new Vario joystick in the armrest, the Vario terminal and the new Vario console on the right, Fendt is setting new standards in operating comfort.

711 - 716 Vario

A new era in headland management was heralded in the series in 2003 with the Variotronic TI. By saving operating procedures, the workload at the headland has been reduced and the driver's workload relieved. While others were still standing at the headland and busy with countless manual operations, you were long back in the furrow with a 700 Vario. A relief, especially on long working days.

Added to this was the enormous increase in comfort for the driver with the help of TMS: When TMS (Tractor Management System) is activated, the tractor electronics take over control of the engine and transmission. The driver simply sets the desired speed and TMS takes care of the rest.

712 - 718 Vario COM III

In the third generation, the performance of the basic vehicle was increased once again and the series was rounded off with a new top model, the 718 Vario. This meant that the all-rounder was available with an output of 130 to 180 hp.

712 - 718 Vario COM III

Thanks to the Auto-Guide pro guidance system, the 700 Vario COM III can now effortlessly follow straight lines for the first time. In addition, 42-inch tyres were also possible for the first time. The Fendt 700 Vario was now equipped for all purposes, from heavy towing work and around the farm use to use as a maintenance tractor. The new Cargo front loaders for the 700 Vario have also increased safety, manoeuvrability and productivity. The tractor and front loader are perfectly harmonised in terms of design, technology and ergonomics.

714 - 724 Vario SCR

The next major milestones in terms of performance, visibility and efficiency are set by the completely redesigned Generation 4 with the new benchmark-setting VisioPlus cab and the power increase up to 240 hp. This includes SCR engine technology, which delivers up to 10% diesel savings. With AdBlue injection, 7% of the running costs could be saved.

The 4th generation ushered in a new era of comfort, clarity and safety: the unique VisioPlus cab and the multi-functional armrest find their place on the Fendt 700 Vario. The new full-length panoramic windscreen with a 77-degree viewing angle offers farmers the best overview of all areas of use. In addition, intuitive and ergonomic operation of all important elements was now possible via the armrest and the 10-inch Varioterminal - organisation and clarity that made daily work much more efficient.

With the CSF system (Coated Soot Filter) and external exhaust gas recirculation, a further step towards efficiency has been taken. This means that a high-quality, fuel-saving solution has been added to the series, which achieved a genius diesel consumption value for 2015 of 255 g/kWh with 3.4% AdBlue* in the DLG PowerMix test.

Fendt was also able to extend the range of applications for the Fendt 700 Vario with the 4 speed rear PTO and a larger hydraulic pump (up to 193 l/min delivery rate). Farmers benefited from up to 7% diesel savings per hectare thanks to a lower engine speed, while at the same time a higher PTO power was available. On the electronics side, Variable Rate Control and Section Control are followed by the exclusive Contour Assistant.

Full focus on the driver's workplace and Smart Farming: In the 6th generation, the innovative FendtONE operating philosophy moved into the cab. The driver's workplace has been given a new concept with more functionalities, customisability and ergonomic aspects - intuitive operation is the key word here. Additional smart farming features can also be used to optimise work processes, for example through efficient task management, field data management and documentation of machine data.
