Key visual action area hand in hand for sustainable agriculture

We work closely with our partners from trade and science, as well as with our customers. We make an important contribution to sustainable agriculture together. We are firmly convinced that real sustainability can only be achieved through cooperation. This particularly applies to the value creation chain in agriculture. Here, many different actors have an important influence on how production can be made sustainable and resources saved on the way from farm to fork. We are prepared to contribute our knowledge and commitment to achieve sustainable progress in our sphere of influence.

We organise our own events in order to drive networking and dialogue forward proactively. On 27 October 2022, our Sustainability Panel took place for the first time: At this forum experts from different sectors of the agricultural economy discuss issues concerning sustainable agriculture and uncover innovative possible solutions. We want to contribute to an exchange of knowledge in this manner, and raise awareness of the sustainable agriculture of tomorrow.

The first “Smart Production” Technology Conference at the Fendt Forum in Marktoberdorf on 13 February 2020.

“Smart Production” technology conference

In 2020 already, the premiere of the “Smart Production” technology conference took place in Marktoberdorf. 180 attendees from German-speaking countries came to the Fendt forum, including numerous representatives of start-up companies. In presentations and in the exhibition area they were able to find out about new developments, and to discuss issues such as digitalisation, big data, artificial intelligence, robotics and sensors. A new edition of this successful conference is planned for 2022.

Project H2Agrar

We do not know all the solutions either – which is why joint research into the technologies of the future is an important pre-condition for sustainable further development. We are working with scientific partners on numerous research projects to develop future-proof products. For example, the project H2Agrar involves developing and trialling a green hydrogen infrastructure with the TU Braunschweig and the Hochschule Emden/Leer among others. For this project we have developed a first generation prototype of a hydrogen-powered tractor, which is being tested under real conditions. Under the leadership of the Fraunhofer Institute, we are part of a project supported by the Ministry of Food and Agriculture, which is researching synergies from fruit cultivation and the use of an agricultural photovoltaic system. These and many other cooperation projects are an important part of our partnerships in researching the agriculture of the future.

Swiss Future Farm

In contrast, with the Swiss Future Farm we are focussing on trialling and optimising existing technologies. The farm with its 55 hectares of arable land in Tänikon, Siwtzerland, is a joint project with a variety of partners, in which we are testing cutting-edge machinery and software under real conditions. An additional focus of the Swiss Future Farm is transferring knowledge. The project partners present the results of the work, and also the technology used, to a broad public. They also offer workshops and tours for farmers and the employees of the project partners.
