In January 2025, the German Federal Motor Transport Authority (KBA) and the German Engineering Federation (VDMA) published the figures for new tractor registrations in the previous year. The figures for the full year 2024 show German farmers and contractors rely on Fendt tractors from Marktoberdorf.

According to the KBA, a total of 29,291 new tractors were registered in Germany in 2024. This is a decline of 1,042 units compared to 2023 and represents a drop of 3.4 per cent.


Fendt leads the registration statistics in 2024 with 7,394 newly registered Fendt tractors. This gives the company a market share of 25.2 per cent from 0 hp in Germany.

Fendt tractors only start at an output of 79 hp. If you look at the evaluation of the official data from 51 hp upwards, Fendt even achieves a market share of 32.1 per cent in the German tractor market with 7,394 newly registered tractors. This means that every third registered tractor is a Fendt from Marktoberdorf.
