“The award shows that, in addition to outstanding development work, Fendt is also a leader in the production of agricultural machinery and can hold its own in international comparison. With the most modern manufacturing and production facilities, intelligent processes and highly motivated employees, Fendt achieves a highly efficient and agile production. Such flexibility is a basic requirement for a successful company in highly volatile markets such as the agricultural machinery industry”, says Ekkehart Gläser, Vice President and Managing Director Production AGCO/Fendt.

At the AGCO/Fendt location in Asbach-Bäumenheim, cabins and hoods are manufactured for Fendt as well as all other AGCO brand agricultural vehicles. The production combines an agile corporate organization with a forward-looking technology infrastructure. For this a “Digital Workplace” has been introduced to the employees. This includes, for example, the digital quality process with tablets as well as the installation of screens along the assembly line. Problems regarding the legibility of a handwriting are solved as well as the location-independent view of defect entries is made possible. Digital solutions promote the execution of work steps, improve the documentation and offer more flexibility in case of product changes. An agile, digital supported project management enables the digitization strategy at the location Asbach-Bäumenheim.

“A key success factor of our digitization strategy lies in a contemporary understanding of leadership that enables creativity and innovative solutions. In addition, we have raised the transparency and implementation speed of our projects to a new level trough a scrum-based, digital project management approach. The award is an excellent assessment of where we stand and gives us additional motivation for the next development steps”, reports Thorsten Miethe, Factory Manager Asbach-Bäumenheim.
