Fendt in Norway: A shower of medals

"We established an independent team for Norway in 2018. This team has done an excellent job in recent years, doubling our market share to 14 percent. Winning ten awards for such different Fendt solutions confirms the work of our team in Norway. I would therefore like to congratulate the entire Fendt team in Norway on this great success," praises Dr Franz Dominic Esser, Director Sales Fendt EME.

"Here in Norway, renewable energy has the highest share in the electricity mix in Europe at over 90 percent. That is why we officially launched the Fendt e100 Vario in Oslo in September. We see great potential in Norway for electric tractors in the agricultural and municipal sectors. Winning the first gold award for the Fendt e100 Vario in our home market is a special honour for our team," says John Henrik Stadtler, Business Manager Fendt Norway. "We also won silver for our mower combination Fendt Slicer 960 KCB Pro and the new FendtONE functions Fendt Tramline Control and Implement Slope Compensation. In addition we received two silver medals for the View camera system and Smart Top Link. This makes us really proud.”

Gold for Fendt e100 Vario

"Fendt won the gold medal because the tractor is so clearly different from previous electric tractors. All previous examples were small tractors for park maintenance; the Fendt e100 Vario is the first agricultural tractor to be electrified," said the expert jury of journalists. They rated the fully battery-electric tractor as the first "real tractor" with an electric drive due to the overall package including a battery with 100 kWh capacity.

All Fendt electric tractors have a warranty of up to 5 years (1+4) or 5,000 hours on the entire vehicle during the order period until the end of March 2025. The extended warranty period gives customers at all participating dealers security when investing in new technologies.

Silver-plated: Five silver medals for Fendt Slicer 960 KCB Pro, Fendt Implement Slope Compensation and Tramline Control, View camera system and Smart Top Link

The Fendt Slicer 960 KCB Pro mower combination was honoured with the silver medal by the expert jury for its automated conditioning intensity. With the Fendt Slicer 960 KCB Pro with tine conditioner, drivers can control the intensity of conditioning variably and directly from the cab. To make things even easier, the counter comb can be set automatically either with the help of a sensor or by using satellite data and the application maps derived from it. The rear mower also controls the conditioning intensity in the front mower, such as the Fendt Slicer FQ, via the ISOBUS function. The three mower units can react individually to different conditions across the entire working width. This means that the conditioning intensity of the front mower can differ from that of the rear mowers, just as the intensity of the two rear mower units can be regulated differently.

This makes it easier for farmers to adjust the processing intensity, ensuring more even drying and therefore better fodder.

Two times silver for FendtONE

The jury awarded silver to the FendtONE function Fendt Implement Slope Compensation. This function prevents the implements from drifting when working on slopes. With Fendt Implement Slope Compensation, drivers can specify an override of the target track. To do this, the driver sets a correction value per degree of slope inclination. The tractor then automatically corrects its course depending on the current slope inclination so that the implement optimises its tracks. This increases the quality of work during soil cultivation and sowing. Working comfort is increased as there is no need for manual counter-steering. A second receiver on the implement is not necessary with this solution.

Silver for Fendt Tramline Control

This function enables the exchange of certain information between the tractor and the seeder or planter. In order to optimally create tramlines, they are automatically calculated using the position data of the tractor. Based on the previously defined rhythm, the sowing or planting units are switched automatically and the tramlines are cut out. This makes work easier, as the driver or operator no longer has to pay attention to the tramline rhythm and can at the same time make the best possible use of functions such as Fendt TI Headland. The prerequisite is that the seeding or planting machines are equipped with Tramline Control. Tramline Control makes tramline planning much easier for farmers and contractors. In addition, matching the working widths of, for example, the seeder and field sprayer becomes obsolete.

Double silver for two retro fit solutions

VIEW makes farming easier by using AI to detect hazards such as people, animals and other vehicles around you. VIEW is always active to prevent accidents, for example. Connected to ISOBUS, it automatically adjusts camera views to your needs, making work smoother, easier and safer.

Smart Top Link keeps a mounted fertiliser spreader level creating a precise spread pattern. Hydraulic top link is controlled by two sensors, fitted to the front and rear of the spreader, leading to better crop growth and increased yield.

Four times "Clever thinking"

For the first time in the history of Agroteknikk, the jury also awarded a separate prize for simple, technical solutions that make farmers' lives and work with agricultural machinery easier. The Norwegian title of the award, "Godt tenkt" or "Clever thinking" clearly indicates the jury's approach. "They may seem simple and obvious, but they show that the companies are thinking about the everyday lives of farmers and we want to reward that," said the jury, explaining their motivation.

Four retro fit solutions for Fendt machines received the "Clever thinking" award at the Agroteknikk trade fair in Lillestrøm: the chassis organiser, an additional attachment space for tools and accessories, the retrofittable side window wiper, the mobile mounting aid for changing wheel weights and the PTO tool.

About the Agroteknikk trade fair

Agroteknikk is Norway's largest and most important agricultural trade fair and took place this year from 14 to 17 November at the NOVA Spectrum in Lillestrøm. It takes place every three years and offers farmers, gardeners and contractors a platform to experience the latest machinery, equipment and technology.

In addition to the exhibition of state-of-the-art agricultural technology, Agroteknikk also offers numerous specialised seminars and workshops that provide insights into current agricultural topics and sustainable practices. The trade fair not only offers the opportunity to find out about technical innovations. It is also an important meeting place for dialogue and networking within the industry.

A special highlight of the fair is the Nyhetskåring (innovation competition), which honours the latest and most innovative products. The jury was made up of six members: Jogeir Agjeld (Norwegian Agricultural Consultancy NRL), Erik Brodshaug (Norwegian Dairy Cooperative Tine), Bodhild Fjelltveit (Norwegian Farmers' Association), Karl Daniel Ekker (Blæstad University), Dag Idar Jøssang (Norsk Landbruk) and Magnus Mo Opsahl (Bedre Gardsdrift).
