With 30,345 registered tractors in Germany for 2023, the market has remained almost unchanged compared to 2022. In 2022, there was only one machine less at 30,344 tractors. Fendt already achieved very good sales figures in May, "so it only took a small year-end rally in December for Fendt to lead the ranking in 2023," writes profi magazine (issue 3/2024). After 2022, Fendt leads the registration statistics from 0 hp for the second time in 2023. German farmers registered 6,140 new Vario tractors. This gives Fendt a market share of 20.2 percent in the overall statistics.
Best-selling tractor model in a decade
In 2011, the agricultural machinery company presented the Fendt 724 Vario to the public. Since its launch, the Fendt 724 Vario has been "by far the most popular model among German tractor drivers", according to the profi editorial team, which continues: "No other model has sold so many units in a decade." With 817 registered units, the Fendt 724 Vario Gen6 is once again the most popular tractor, topping the overall list of the most popular models in Germany. The gap to the second-placed model is a whole 170 units.
The three favorite models of German Fendt customers
As the top model on the overall list, the Fendt 724 Vario Gen6 is also the most popular model among Fendt customers in Germany. No fewer than 644 customers opted for a Fendt 516 Vario. The Fendt 314 Vario follows in third place with 551 units registered in Germany. The popular top model in the Fendt 300 Vario series features the Fendt DynamicPerformance extra performance concept.

"This year, we are offering our farmers a highly attractive product range in the 150 to 300 hp class. This starts with the 4-cylinder Fendt 500 Vario tractor up to 160 hp. Then there is the new Fendt 600 Vario, also a 4-cylinder up to 200 hp. The performance portfolio is complemented by the Fendt 700 Gen6 series with a 6-cylinder engine up to 240 hp and rounded off with the new Fendt 700 Vario Gen7 with up to 300 hp. With this tractor range, we can optimally cover all customer requirements, from dairy farms to contractors."
Fendt also leads the registration statistics in Switzerland
In 2023, 1,854 new tractors were registered in Switzerland. This means that the market has increased by 36 units compared to 2022. "Fendt continues to lead the list of new registrations in 2023 with 398 newly registered tractors," writes Landtechnik Schweiz magazine (issue 2/2024). This is 70 units higher than the figure for 2022.
The strongest performance segment in mountainous Switzerland lies between 61 and 120 hp and therefore in the compact tractor segment. With 144 registered units, the Fendt 211 Vario is the most popular tractor in Switzerland and, with the Fendt DynamicPerformance extra power concept, has 124 hp and is therefore right in the strongest power segment. "If you add the narrow-track version, you get 160 models that can be assigned to this tractor type," writes Landtechnik Schweiz.
