Stability and precision on steep terrain
The Fendt Alpine Former 351 DS is specially designed for the versatile requirements of alpine terrain, is impressive with its low weight and rigid, compact attachment and is perfectly designed for front mounting on agile mountain tractors. The one-piece three-point headstock guarantees a stable connection to the tractor and ensures stable driving behaviour in hilly terrain. The low towing point and the movable lower link arms enable the rake with a working width of 3.60 m to follow the ground very well. This is further enhanced by feeler wheels for both front and rear use.

Flexible front or rear use
Thanks to the integrated universal transmission, the Fendt Former 351 DS is particularly impressive in both front and rear operation. Thanks to the optimised weight distribution due to the compact front attachment, driving control and stability are increased, which enables excellent and safe manoeuvrability, especially in steep and difficult terrain conditions and narrow areas - even when reversing. The improved visibility of the machine and the terrain to be worked on increases control and safety on steep meadows as well as during transport on narrow paths and tight bends. This also optimises feed quality, as valuable feed is not driven over. The swath delivery on the right-hand side remains constant regardless of the mounting position.

On the ideal track along the slope
The Fendt Alpine single-rotor rake is equipped with a wide-track chassis with balloon tyres. The swivelling wheels can also be locked in place on sloping terrain. The wide-track chassis gives the rake a wider footprint, which significantly reduces the risk of tipping and slipping on sloping terrain. The lockable wheels ensure precise tracking and prevent uncontrolled drifting of the rake. This combination results in a more precise following of the ground contour and a reduction in the proportion of raw ash in the swath. At the same time, the sward and soil structure are protected thanks to the increased stability and better control, which prevents unnecessary soil compaction or erosion.

The optimum swath is a matter of adjustment
A key factor for a clean swath that is perfectly shaped for following machines on sloping terrain is the optimum setting of various parameters. The lifting time of the tines can be quickly adapted to the conditions by means of the easily adjustable cam track. The Former 351 DS offers precise height and tilt adjustment of the rotors to ensure soil-friendly harvesting of low-crude ash forage without losses. The raking height can be steplessly adjusted by means of a crank, the transverse tilt by means of shims on the rotor wheels. The clean and even swath delivery as well as the swath width can be individually adjusted via the telescopic and spring-supported swath former.
Technologies for the perfect swath on a slope.
Alpine harvest technology with the Fendt factor
The Fendt factor is not only evident in the development of innovative technologies or the use of high-quality materials, but can be found in every area of our machines. From the initial idea for solving customer requirements to the meticulous production and passion of our employees to the perfect forage and satisfied customers. The Fendt Factor stands for innovation, technology, Fendt quality and customer satisfaction – ingredients you need to be a truly successful harvester. Even in mountainous regions.
The enclosed design of the rotor heads of the Fendt Former single-rotor rakes protects all important components such as the cam track and transmission from dust and dirt. This ensures a high level of reliability and durability, even with intensive use.
High reliability
Tangentially arranged tine arms enable higher working speeds, which increases productivity and improves the efficiency of the rake.
Higher working speeds
The optimised, sinusoidal cam track of the Fendt Former rakes ensures fast and precise lifting of the tines and optimum swath shaping. Thanks to the closed design with permanent lubrication and the small cam track diameter, wear is minimised and the service life extended. The tool-free adjustment option makes it easy to adapt the timing to the harvesting conditions.
Fast and precise lifting of the tines
The tines of the Fendt Former rotor arms are individually bolted under the tine carrier, which ensures a stable and durable connection. Thanks to the smooth front of the tine carriers, no forage gets stuck and the special “flow drill” process ensures a very stable attachment. This design allows the tines to move freely, reduces forage contamination and ensures even and efficient swath delivery.
Large freedom of movement of the tines & reduced forage soiling
