Farmsafe Australia is a not-for-profit, farmer-led organisation and the primary voice for farm safety in Australia. The organization is dedicated to promoting practical measures that prioritise the safety, health, and well-being of individuals on the farm. This is achieved through education and engagement with communities and stakeholders nationwide.


Under this year's theme, "In Safe Hands," Farmsafe addresses various safety topics, including the significance of support and well-being, ensuring children experience rural life security, and highlighting vehicle and machinery safety.

Clay, a native of New Zealand, has a strong farming background and a long association with farm machinery, in particular with the Fendt brand via the family business. AGCO, Your Agriculture Company (NYSE: AGCO), a global leader in the design, manufacture and distribution of agricultural machinery and precision ag technology, reported net sales of $3.8 billion for the fourth quarter of 2023, a decrease of 2.5% compared to the fourth quarter of 2022. Reported net income was $4.53 per share for the fourth quarter of 2023, and adjusted net income⁽³⁾ was $3.78 per share.
These results compare to reported net income of $4.29 per share and adjusted net income⁽³⁾ of $4.47 per share, for the fourth quarter of 2022. Excluding favorable currency translation impacts of 1.8%, net sales in the fourth quarter of 2023 decreased 4.3% compared to the fourth quarter of 2022.

AGCO, Your Agriculture Company (NYSE: AGCO), a global leader in the design, manufacture and distribution of agricultural machinery and precision ag technology, reported its results for the third quarter ended September 30, 2023.

The 150-200 hp performance class is one of the biggest in Europe, with machines used in arable farming, grassland, transport and with front loaders. With the completely newly developed Fendt 600 Vario series, Fendt, for the first time in this performance class, is presenting a compact and manoeuvrable 4-cylinder tractor with high performance and payload at a low power-to-weight ratio and central tyre inflation system from the factory. An electronic system architecture that grows with the customer offers the full scope of FendtONE onboard and offboard.

Farms and municipalities want to reduce exhaust and noise emissions and work more sustainably. For this, they need practical machines with alternative drives. Fendt introduces the Fendt e100 V Vario, a battery-electric, narrow-track tractor for specialist applications. The light and compact 55 kW tractor works with existing implements and features the FendtONE system architecture that grows with the machine. The Fendt e100 V Vario is set to be used in enclosed spaces, such as greenhouses.

The top model of the new 700 Vario series (Gen7), the Fendt 728 Vario, was tested for performance, efficiency and fuel consumption in the independent DLG PowerMix test. The result is clear: the Fendt 728 Vario is impressive in all field cycles and in transport on the road with the best values, placing it at the top of the 300 hp class.

A system architecture that grows along with the vehicle has been standard for Fendt machines for a long time. This way, tractors are constantly up-to-date in terms of their range of functions, comply with current legal requirements and also maintain a higher residual value. The FendtONE operating system, which grows with the system, enables both onboard and offboard software updates . Additional options and updates for the guidance system and machine control are now available for FendtONE onboard.

Because customer's needs change and grow, Fendt continuously develops its machines and solutions. Fendt is offering numerous new features for tractors at the same time. These innovations include VarioFlex dual tyres, the steering joystick Fendt ErgoSteer, a mobile assembly aid for wheel weights and a central telemetry system for the compact tractors from the Fendt 200 Vario series.

The “Farm to Fork” strategy of the European Green Deal combines three targets: reducing the use of crop protection products by 50 per cent, drastically cutting CO₂ emissions and increasing the number of organic businesses by 25 per cent by 2030. To allow farmers to reach these targets, Fendt has conceived a combination of the battery-electric Fendt e100 Vario with a range extender and an electrically-powered hoe. By using Green Energy and with minimal CO₂ emissions the use of crop protection products is significantly reduced at the same time. Fendt has developed the unit consisting of tractor and hoe together with Lauwen Agro Engineering. The range extender was created in a partnership between AGCO Power and BlueWorld. The overall concept of the combination also forms the basis for future autonomous operation.

Changeable weather often leaves narrow time windows for mowing, so areas must be harvested ever more quickly and efficiently. Fendt has developed a new range of butterfly mowers specifically for contractors and large farms. The new range of 12 models feature the powerful Streamline cutter bar as standard. In addition, there are equipment options such as the newly developed groupers and ISOBUS functions, such as a speed-dependent control of the contact pressure, automations for the conditioner and the lateral shift or Section Control.

Due to their versatility, variable chamber round balers are becoming increasingly popular worldwide. Now the film binding option is available for the variable chamber baler-wrapper combination Fendt Rotana 160 V Combi. In addition, there is the quick-change system for film and net rolls as well as a new tailgate function. Further innovations are available for the variable and fixed-chamber solo presses.

Unpredictable weather, steep slopes and narrow tracks characterise the alpine region. In agricultural use, compact and smooth-running machines, an optimum centre of gravity, flexible cultivation options and stability are crucial for a safe harvest and great results. Fendt has revised and expanded the existing Alpine range. There are innovations in the Fendt Slicer front mowers, the Fendt Twister tedders, the Fendt Former rakes and the Fendt Tigo S Alpine forage wagons.

In 2022, Fendt introduced the Fendt Katana 850 forage harvester and, with it, entered the 800hp+ power segment. The overall machine is designed to deliver high impact power. With a new performance management system, the performance of the machine can be controlled even more efficiently. Features such as manual control of the engine speed, a new generation of headers or the optimised use of NIR data are further increasing the efficiency of the overall machine and forage quality. Fendt is also expanding its range of tedders to include the Fendt Twister 1100 to Fendt Twister 1300 Hydro series.

Controlling large combine harvesters in combination with a header trailer is challenging. Firstly, roads are often narrow or winding, and secondly, drivers cannot easily see the rear part of the machine and the header trailer. Fixed cameras and side mirrors cannot cover the entire area behind the machine when cornering and lose sight of the header trailer. Fendt has developed the new, autodynamic DYNAMIC SMART VISION camera system for tracking the header trailer. Other innovations for the Fendt combines include Fendt TI Headland, a dust extraction system as well as more power for the Fendt IDEAL 7 and new tyre options.

Downtime due to missing or incorrect spare parts is particularly annoying in short harvest windows. In future, Fendt will offer a way to significantly reduce this downtime. With a mobile device, components can be correctly identified by the customer and ordered via the relevant sales partner.

AGCO Corporation (NYSE: AGCO) has announced its results for the fourth quarter, which ended December 31^st, 2022. AGCO is active worldwide in the development, manufacturing and distribution of tractors and agricultural equipment, as well as solutions for the agricultural industry.

The Fendt Tigo 90 XR D loader wagon was subjected to extensive tests together with DLG TestService. It underwent a comparison test with a comparable competitor machine as well as a test according to the test module "Function and Quality of Work" of the German Agricultural Society (DLG [Deutsche Landwirtschafts-Gesellschaft] e.V.).

With the launch of the seventh generation of the Fendt 700 Vario, Fendt brings a completely new ground up design and expands the power spectrum to up to 300 hp for versatile applications. The new engine, the optional 60-inch track width, FendtONE onboard and offboard and a new generation of the Fendt Cargo front loader distinguish the series as an all-rounder in the world market. For the first time, the 700 Vario is available with up to 60 km/h. Technical innovations from the large tractors, such as VarioDrive and the innovative cooling concept, lead to ground breaking manoeuvrability in this class. And so, the Fendt 700 Vario sets new standards once again.

Farmers are spending more and more time planning, organising and documenting their work. FendtONE offboard is a digital solution for simple, operation-specific work organisation and documentation and complements the FendtONE onboard driver workstation. FendtONE offboard will now be rolled out and new functionality will be added continuously based on current and future customer needs.
